Louis Vuitton Rivington GM Damier Ebene Shoulder Bag (2010)

Think of a Louis Vuitton Speedy, but made for your shoulder.

The Rivington GM is one of those discontinued Louis Vuitton styles that makes you wonder why they ever stopped making it. It has the rounded, roomy silhouette we love in a classic Speedy, but instead of short top handles, the Rivington was designed with long leather straps that sit comfortably over the shoulder.

Made in Louis Vuitton's classic Damier Ebene coated canvas, the bag has a softly structured shape with beautiful pleated detailing at each side and rich chocolate brown leather trim.

The double zipper opens generously around the top and sides, making the interior incredibly easy to access. Inside is Louis Vuitton's beautiful deep red lining with an interior slip pocket.

It's polished enough to carry every day, roomy without feeling oversized, and incredibly comfortable on the shoulder.

And this one is in excellent condition.

CONDITION

Excellent pre-owned condition.

The Damier Ebene canvas is beautifully preserved with rich colour and no obvious cracking visible in the photographs.

The chocolate brown leather trim and long shoulder straps present exceptionally well with only minor signs of previous use. The gold-tone hardware remains bright with light surface wear consistent with a preloved Louis Vuitton bag.

The bag maintains a beautiful shape and structure. The corners and base present very well.

The deep red interior is exceptionally clean and beautifully preserved.

WHY I LOVE IT

It's basically the shoulder-bag answer to the Speedy.

You get that same classic Louis Vuitton bowler shape and roomy interior, but those longer straps completely change how practical the bag is. You can actually throw it over your shoulder and go.

I also love how understated the Rivington is. It is unmistakably Louis Vuitton, but it's not a style you see everywhere. The Damier Ebene, chocolate leather and little touches of gold hardware make it such an easy everyday bag.

And the red interior gets me every time.

This is one of those discontinued LV styles that deserves another moment.
