Louis Vuitton Monogram Vintage Speedy 25 Handbag

One of the most iconic Louis Vuitton bags ever made.

The Speedy 25 is the smallest of the classic original Speedy sizes, giving you that unmistakable Louis Vuitton silhouette in a size that is easy to carry every day.

This vintage example is in excellent overall condition for its age. The Monogram coated canvas is strong and beautifully preserved, with a rich colour and very little to note. The natural vachetta leather has developed a warm, even honey patina, and the rolled handles remain strong.

Inside, the classic brown textile lining is clean overall, including the interior slip pocket.

The bag shows normal signs of previous use consistent with a vintage piece. The most important condition note is the leather zipper pull, which has become fragile with age and is prone to tearing if pulled directly. I recommend opening and closing the bag using the metal base of the zipper rather than pulling on the leather tab. This will help preserve the original leather.

The original date code has worn and is no longer legible, so I am not assigning a production year to this piece.

CONDITION

Excellent vintage condition with normal signs of previous use.

The Monogram coated canvas remains strong, supple and very well preserved.

The natural vachetta leather has developed a warm honey patina with normal variation, marks and signs of use associated with age.

The rolled leather handles remain strong and present very well.

The piping and leather trim show normal vintage wear.

The interior is clean overall and the interior pocket remains clean and usable.

Hardware shows normal age-related patina and wear.

Please note: the original leather zipper pull has become fragile with age. While it remains attached, pulling directly on the leather may cause it to tear. I recommend grasping the metal base of the zipper when opening and closing the bag to preserve the original pull.

The original date code has worn and can no longer be reliably read. A Certificate of Authenticity is included with the bag.

WHY I LOVE IT

There is something about an older Speedy that a brand-new one just doesn't have.

I love the honey-coloured leather against the Monogram canvas on this one. It has clearly lived a previous life, but it has been very well cared for along the way.
