Christian Dior Black Coated Canvas Honeycomb Monogram/Leather Shoulder Tote (1980's)

I may have a hard time letting this one go.

This vintage Christian Dior tote is one of those bags that is even better in person. The exterior features Dior's monogram in a black-on-black coated canvas, finished with smooth black leather across the top and long leather shoulder straps.

The monogram is incredibly subtle. From a distance, it reads almost entirely black. When the light catches it, the Dior pattern comes through, this isn't just a beautiful vintage bag, it's practical.

The long handles fit comfortably over the shoulder, the entire top secures with a zipper, and the interior is large enough to hold a 13" laptop, making this such a good everyday, office or travel bag.

Finished with gold-tone Dior hardware and a small gold Dior logo at the front. Vintage Dior that you can actually use every day.

CONDITION

Excellent vintage condition.

This bag has been exceptionally well preserved.

The black coated canvas is clean and strong with the tonal Dior monogram still visible throughout. The smooth black leather across the top presents beautifully, and the long leather handles remain strong and secure.

The corners and base show very little wear, particularly considering the age of the bag.

The gold-tone Dior hardware presents beautifully with only minor signs consistent with previous use.

The top zipper runs across the full opening of the bag and the interior fabric lining is clean and well maintained.

There may be very minor signs of its previous life throughout, but nothing that takes away from the overall presentation or function of the bag.

WHY I LOVE IT

Gosh, I love this one.

It has everything I want in a vintage everyday bag.

The black-on-black Dior monogram is subtle enough that you have to look twice to notice it. The smooth leather across the top gives it structure. The long handles actually fit comfortably over your shoulder. And then there is a full zipper across the top, which I always appreciate in a larger tote.

But the fact that it fits a 13" laptop might be my favourite part.

This is vintage Dior that doesn't need to be saved for a special occasion. Take it to work. Travel with it. Carry it every day, and after roughly four decades, it still looks this good.
